Doctor Who: Spoiler-free preview for Knock Knock
Doctor Who series 10 continues its winning streak this Saturday, with Mike Bartlett's first script for the show delivering frights, action, mystery and laughter in equal measure. Knock Knock is a cracking tale that sees Bill and her friends encounter the joys of student living with a twist, complete with creepy landlord played marvellously by David Suchet and a house of horrors.
In grand Doctor Who tradition it's a classic haunted house story with an alien twist but I won't delve deeper than that for fear of ruining it for potential viewers. But needless to say there are a few moments of horror that will be sure have the younger viewers hiding behind the sofa. It's also a nit more of an ensemble piece, with Bill's housemates looking like they could have just stepped off Doctor Who spin-off Class and leading to some fresh dynamics after three weeks of fantastic Doctor - Bill interplay.
While Pearl Mackie's Bill continues to be great as always, there's also a sense that she's now settled into this world now, allowing Peter Capaldi to really to step up again and steal the episode from everyone. Plus there's a little bit of magic where Capaldi and Suchet are together on screen.
For the second preview in a row, I'm calling this my favourite episodes of season 10 yet and I think there'll be a lot more fans agreeing with me come Saturday night...
