Taboo renewed for a second season
Tom Hardy's dark period drama Taboo has been renewed by FX and the BBC for a second season. According to series co-creator Steven Knight, the renewal has been in the bag for a while now, it's just taken a while for the official announcement to be given.
Taboo stars Hardy as James Delaney, an adventurer in 1814, who uncovers a dark family conspiracy when he returns from Africa to avenge his father's death. Earlier this year, Knight suggested the series could go for at least two more years.
“We think it has got a two and a three certainly, that's the plan. After that, who knows? This series is eight parts - it's a lot of time.”
On the renewal, Hardy stated:
“We are grateful and excited to continue our relationship with the BBC and FX in contributing towards British drama. Fantastic news.“
The first season recently ended on the BBC. You can check out Stephan Burn's review of the finale here.
