Cress Williams to headline Black Lightning TV series
The Black Lightning TV series, which was recently picked up for a pilot by The CW, has found its lead; Cress Williams has been cast as Jefferson Pierce, aka electricity powered superhero Black Lightning.
The Hollywood Reporter has confimed Cress's casting, noting his return to the same network where he previously starred in the Hart Of Dixie for The CW. This will be Cress's second time in the DC universe; he played Baron Sunday, a Metropolis crime lord with the power of voodoo, in a 1996 episode of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
