Doctor Who: Series 10 air date and a returning villain confirmed

Peter Capaldi might be leaving Doctor Who in the 2017 Christmas special, but there is a whole 12-episode series 10 to enjoy first and on the back of the recent confirmation of every writer we now have an air date; the new series will air (as many suspected) on Saturday 15th April on BBC 1.

Mark Gatiss has also revealed the villain to feature in his series 10 episode and it will be a monster from the classic era. After bringing them back in series seven's Cold War, Gatiss will be writing for the Ice Warriors once more. Making the following statement, Gatiss said:

"It’s time to welcome back sssssssome old friends. I’m bring back the Ice Warriors, again! One of my favourite monsters. It’s a thrill-a-minute – a sort of Bank Holiday Monday feel, a kind of Jules Verne, Edgar Rice Burroughs story of derring-do, which I’ve always loved.

But it has a new twist! There is a new Ice Warrior in it, a different kind of Ice Warrior.”" - BBC
