had announced that a War Of The Worlds TV series
was being developed and written by Peter Harness (Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, Doctor Who) keeping the original setting of late 19th Century Surrey in England. And now a second version is being developed by MTV, keeping the contemporary setting used by Steven Spielberg’s 2005 cinematic version starring Tom Cruise.

Deadline have exclusively revealed that the modern version will be written by Andrew Cochran and executive produced by executive produced Jeff Davis, Josh Barry and Jeff Kwatinetz. This new version, will likely target the youth-orientated market, MTV has been targeting in its recent TV output.
