Doctor Who spin-off Class to air on BBC Three from October 22nd
More on Doctor Who
The Coal Hill School-set Doctor Who spin-off Class finally has an airdate; the first episode will be broadcast on BBC 1 on October 22nd. Not only that, but The Doctor himself Peter Capaldi will be guest starring in the debut episode For Tonight We Might Die.
The BBC have released this detailed synopsis of episode 1 and a brand new promo image (above):
"It’s a new term at Coal Hill Academy, and students are preparing for their Autumn Prom. But when the school comes under attack, four alienated students must form an unlikely alliance to defeat them. And this incursion is only the beginning…
Charlie (Greg Austin), April (Sophie Hopkins), Ram (Fady Elsayed) and Tanya (Vivian Oparah), assisted by their physics teacher Miss Quill (Katherine Kelly), are charged with a great responsibility by the mysterious alien known as the Doctor (Peter Capaldi): guard against the creatures of nightmare that want nothing more than to find a way through to Earth and take it for their own." - BBC
The second episode The Coach With The Dragon Tattoo will air on BBC 3 shortly after episode 1 on October 22nd with further episodes airing (we assume) weekly on BBC 3 thereafter. It was recently revealed that Class will not be suitable for younger viewers, suggesting it is more Torchwood than The Sarah Jane Adventures in tone.
