Great British Bake Off - Live Blog: 7.05

It's pastry week in the tent, which is my favourite week because I get to be furious at how difficult they make pastry seem when it's actually just a case of following a recipe and using your common sense. The challenges look ridiculous and the bakers are almost certainly going to cry. It's going to be good.

Pastry week is also ripe for puns. There's always the fear of a soggy bottom, and with all the kneading and squishing and butter and soft, squishy dough, Mel and Sue are usually in their element.

Recommended bake off snacks this week are jam tarts, sausage rolls and croissants, although I'm just going for a chippy because I finished work too late to go to the shop to get anything decent. Onward, friends!

We need your help

Running a website like The Digital Fix - especially one with over 20 years of content and an active community - costs lots of money and we need your help. As advertising income for independent sites continues to contract we are looking at other ways of supporting the site hosting and paying for content.

You can help us by using the links on The Digital Fix to buy your films, games and music and we ask that you try to avoid blocking our ads if you can. You can also help directly for just a few pennies per day via our Patreon - and you can even pay to have ads removed from the site entirely.
