Game of Thrones: Forever?

In fact, HBO's top executives have said they will keep making the show as long as George R. R. Martin writes books from that universe! Forever then?

“We told (the author) we’d go as long as he keeps writing,” said HBO co-president Richard Plepler.

“I hope it lasts for 20 years,” says HBO programming president Michael Lombardo

This came in response to some critics' and fans' concerns that the show would end up stranded without any conclusion if it got too expensive, or less popular. No chance, apparently, which is a rather good result.

Some comment on the length of a season - a seemingly low 10 episodes - was made also. It was a choice of:

1) One year between seasons and 10 episodes
2) Longer between series but more shows
3) Same length between series but more episodes and a diluted quality as a result

I think the right choice has been made, and so does our reviewer of Game of Thrones season one considering the impact the first 10 episodes had on him.
