Amazon to broadcast American Gods in the UK

Hannibal showrunner Bryan Fuller is a busy man; not only is he overseeing Star Trek: Discovery, which will be broadcast on Netflix here in the UK next year, he's also working on American Gods. The show is based on Neil Gaiman's novel of the same name and we have now learned that the UK broadcast will take place on Amazon.

Fuller has confirmed that the TV series will tackle part of Gaiman's novel, while making room for future seasons. In case you've missed the hype over American Gods here is the synopsis...

"The plot posits a war brewing between old and new gods: the traditional gods of biblical and mythological roots from around the world steadily losing believers to an upstart pantheon of gods reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs." - Starz

It's quite a coup for Amazon, who have already picked up and broadcast US shows such as Lucifer and Preacher. The show will air in 2017.
