CBS renews animal-apocalyptic Zoo for a third season

If you're a fan of Zoo, then good news; CBS has renewed the series for a third season. The series, based on the science fiction thriller novel by James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge, features a global uprising by the animal population, leading to an 'animal apocalypse'. A small team, led by James Wolk's Jackson Oz, travel the world, trying to find a way to cure the animal populace before mankind is wiped out.

It might sound a bit naff, but the show is surprisingly fun and a unique twist on standard TV apocalyptic fare. According to TV Line, the show's second season has seen solid viewing numbers in its current slot, beating other shows in the same summer period.

Zoo season two airs in the UK on on Sky 1, Sunday nights at 9pm.
