Netflix renews Bloodline for season three
Netflix's track record for original shows is generally rather good (Daredevil, House Of Cards), though it isn't without a few mishaps (The Ranch anyone?) One show that has a good, if underrated reputation is Florida family-based thriller Bloodline and now Netflix has renewed the show for a third season.
There has been some uncertainty over future episodes. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a third season was highly uncertain as the Florida's tax incentives program expired this year and legislation voted against replenishing the funds. Without those incentives, Bloodline would become too costly to make.
After some campaigning Netflix stated their committal to a third season. Bloodline's executive producer Todd A. Kessler confirmed:
"Netflix is evaluating how it's doing for them and how it's performing, and are very hopeful that there will be a future as are we. We decided to set the show there … because it's crucial to what the show is, not because of the tax incentive, but it does affect things financially for us and the show will be challenged because of that. It makes things more difficult." - Netflix
The show will return for 10 new episodes in 2017...
