Channel 5 picks up The X Files season 10 for UK broadcast

They might have dumped US hot shows like The Walking Dead and Once Upon A Time, but it seems Channel 5 are getting back in the game, beating other UK broadcasters in a bidding war to get The X Files revival in early 2016.

No news on an exact date yet (Fox will show the first two episodes of the revival on the 24th January) but we can't imagine the UK broadcast will be that far behind. This follows the acquisition of another revival Heroes Reborn which will air on the slightly less high profile 5* at some point in 2016.

In the meantime, if you don't have time to do a full rewatch of The X Files don't worry, because we're reviewing the big episodes for you. You can jump right back to our review of the pilot here, or catch up with our latest review of

Disclaimer, we're probably not going to finish all nine seasons and two movies before the show returns, but we'll give it a go!

Are you excited for the return of The X Files after more than a decade off our television screens?

The X Files

Chris Carter's The X Files was the cultural zeitgeist of the 1990s, turning Mulder and Scully into television heroes. With its mix of aliens, conspiracies, monsters and serial killers, it revolutionised cult television and returned for new six-part revival in 2016 and another 10 episodes in 2018. Check out our 'The X Files Revisited', reviewing key episodes from across all seasons and both movies and our weekly reviews of season 11.
