BBC releases new image and title of Doctor Who Christmas special!

More on Doctor Who

There is just one episode left of the brilliant series nine (our spoiler-free preview for Hell Bent is on its way), but fortunately for us the Christmas special is not far behind. Now the BBC have released a new image featuring the Doctor and River Song battling what looks like an evil Baymax. (Look around the internet, we're not the only one to make that comparison!).

The special has a title too, the very fun-sounding The Husbands Of River Song. We're hoping that means multiple Doctors - Paul McGann perhaps - but to be honest that's just very wishful thinking!

For those who missed the recent news story, here's the official synopsis too...

"It’s Christmas Day on a remote human colony and the Doctor is hiding from Christmas Carols and Comedy Antlers. But when a crashed spaceship calls upon the Doctor for help, he finds himself recruited into River Song’s squad and hurled into a fast and frantic chase across the galaxy. King Hydroflax (Greg Davies) is furious, and his giant Robot bodyguard is out-of-control and coming for them all! Will Nardole (Matt Lucas) survive? And when will River Song work out who the Doctor is?

All will be revealed on a starliner full of galactic super-villains and a destination the Doctor has been avoiding for a very long time." - BBC
