Vandal Savage To Debut In Arrow / The Flash Crossover Episodes

Warning, this article refers to the current UK-paced episodes of The Flash and Arrow...

One of the best features of the shared TV universe of Arrow and The Flash are the regular appearances of characters from both shows popping into the other. And at the centre of this is an annual two-part event; the Arrow / The Flash crossover episodes.

For the second year, things are getting decidedly bigger with major DC villain Vandal Savage turning up as the show builds up towards the third big DC superhero show on The CW, Legends Of Tomorrow. The Flash has already re-established Leonard Snart / Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) as a more credible character and created a new Firestorm duo in Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Jefferson 'Jax' Jackson (Franz Drameh) while future Hawkgirl Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renée) has also been introduced. Over in Arrow Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) has been resurrected to become White Canary while the latest episode revealed that Brandon Routh's Ray Palmer / Atom was still alive.

Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) will appear in both crossover episodes and The CW has released the official synopses for both. First up is The Flash...

"In its second major crossover event with “Arrow,” Vandal Savage (guest star Casper Crump) arrives in Central City and sets his sights on Kendra Saunders (guest star Ciara Renée). After Vandal attacks Kendra and Cisco, they turn to Barry for help. Realizing how dangerous Vandal is, Barry takes Kendra to Star City and asks Oliver and team to hide her until he can figure out how to stop Vandal. However, things quickly go from bad to worse when a man with wings AKA Hawkman (guest star Falk Hentschel) shows up and flies off with Kendra. Meanwhile, Harrison develops a serum to make Barry run faster and asks Jay (guest star Teddy Sears) to test it out."

And the next day in Arrow...

"Oliver and Barry Allen take Kendra Saunders and Carter Hall to a remote location to keep them hidden from Vandal Savage while they figure out how to defeat him. Malcolm arranges a meeting between Vandal, Green Arrow and The Flash that doesn’t go as planned. Meanwhile, Felicity, Thea, Diggle and Laurel work with Team Flash to come up with a weapon powerful enough to destroy Vandal Savage."

More news on both as we have it. In the meantime, follow our weekly reviews of both episodes each week. The Flash airs on Sky 1 on Tuesdays at 8pm, Arrow on Wednesdays at the same time. Legends Of Tomorrow will air in the US (and we assume Sky 1) in 2016...
