Could Edmund Blackadder return to TV?
According to a report in The Guardian, Baldrick himself has hinted that a new series of Blackadder could be on the cards.
Tony Robinson, who plays Blackadder's trusty, if dim, underling suggests that the only thing that might stop it coming to the screen is the salary that Hugh Laurie may command now that he's huge State-side star.
Running to four series following the escapades of various descendants of the Blackadder dynasty, the show was last seen at the turn of the Millennium in a one-off disappointing special Blackadder: Back and Forth. It is best remembered though for the critically acclaimed fourth series that featured one of the most memorable endings to a TV show ever.
Robinson has spoken to all of the principle cast about a new series and writers Richard Curtis and Ben Elton would almost certainly be up for creating more episodes. However, if Laurie was to demand a salary close to his House earnings we could be in for a very, very long wait.
