First Look At The Shannara Chronicles

With Comic Con 2015 in full swing there are so many TV news trailers and news times, it is hard to keep up. The first trailer for The Shannara Chronicles was revealed on the 10th July, just a week after filming wrapped on the first season.

With Jon Faverau as executive producer, The Shannara Chronicles is the first TV adaptation of Terry Brooks beloved Shannara book series. Rather than start with the first book released, 1978's The Sword Of Shannara, the TV show is dipping into the second book, The Elfstones Of Shannara, which focuses on a young man Wil Ohmsford helping an elf Amberle Elessedil and mysterious druid Allanon (Arrow's Manu Bennett) to stop a host of evil being unleashed on the world.

Taking a page out of the cinematic The Lord Of The Rings' book, The Shannara Chronicles uses the sweeping locales of New Zealand for its location shooting and it looks magnificent. Particularly stunning are the post-apocalyptic man-made buildings and ships that have become infused with nature; something fans of the books will know all too well.

There is no news on what UK Broadcaster will pick up this series but it definitely is one to look out for.
