Twin Peaks: New Season Will be Eighteen Episodes Long

More on Twin Peaks

Last week the fans got the news they had been hoping for; David Lynch would be returning to the Twin Peaks revival to direct all the episodes. Better still was Showtime's announcement that the third season would be more than the original nine episodes as planned.

With virtually every living cast member confirmed to be back for the revival, Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey Horne) and Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer) made a number of cryptic announcements during a Twin Peaks panel at Crypticon in Seattle.

David Lynch will direct 18 new episodes of Twin Peaks.
Angelo Badalamenti is composing brand new music for the series.
Twede’s Cafe in North Bend, WA, will be restored as the original Double R Diner set.

Double the amount of episodes planned with David Lynch directing every episode? This is better than anything we could have hoped for and suggest those budget issues David Lynch referred to a few months back are now a thing of the past. Roll on 2016!
