Adrianne Palicki & Nick Blood to headline Agents Of SHIELD spin off
A couple of weeks ago, news broke that ABC were considering an Agents Of SHIELD spin-off. Until now, details of what that show would be about have been scarce. But now Deadline has exclusively revealed that deals are being put in place for season two regulars Adrianne Palicki & Nick Blood to headline the spin-off.
Palicki's Barbara “Bobbi” Morse aka Mockingbird and Blood's Lance Hunter have arguably been the two most successful additions to the cast in a second season that has increasingly grown more confident in its storytelling. They certainly have the energy and charisma that the season one regulars were missing from the start. The assumption is that the show would follow a Mr. & Mrs. Smith spy drama, with the two leads bickering and fighting alongside each other as they fall in and out of love.
There is no news yet as to what the premise will be; a follow on from the secret second SHIELD arc that Bobbi and other season two addition Mac have aligned themselves to or something altogether different from the parent show. It is also not known whether this would be a mid-season filler, like Agent Carter or air in the US alongside Agents Of SHIELD but on a different day, like The Flash does to Arrow on The CW.
On a side note, the second Marvel TV show in development for ABC is rumoured to focus on Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel. Oscar-winning John Ridley is working on this show, while the Lance and Bobbi spin off would be developed and executive-produced by current Agents Of SHIELD producers Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewski
More news on both shows as we have it.
