More on Doctor Who

With the long wait until series nine in August / September, news about Doctor Who has been a bit quite as of late. Block 1 has completed filming with the return of a mid-series two-parter (hooray!) described by Steven Moffat as having “an amazing guest cast for a brilliantly creepy two-parter by Toby Whithouse … one of our scariest adventures yet!”

Today the Doctor Who official twitter feed posted the above picture and the following tweet

Filming has started on block 2 of the new series of #DoctorWho! Red dots on a world map… What d’you think it means?

What we do know is that the first two self-contained episodes have been written by Moffat himself and are both directed by Hettie Macdonald. She hasn't been on the show since directing series three's Blink. Cast your minds back and I think you might be able to recollect that that was quite a good episode!

Scary two-parters, the director of Blink and more Jenna Coleman and Peter Capaldi together. I am expecting great things from season nine. Are you? And what do you think is the mystery of the red dots?
