Stephen Colbert to replace Letterman

News just in that Stephen Colbert has been confirmed as David Letterman's replacement on CBS. According to CBS Press Express:

"The CBS Television Network today announced that Stephen Colbert, the host, writer and executive producer of the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning “The Colbert Report,” will succeed David Letterman as the host of THE LATE SHOW, effective when Mr. Letterman retires from the broadcast."

Emmy award winning Colbert therefore moves out of Jon Stewart's shadow and into the big leagues to fight two men called Jimmy for ratings. Colbert is quoted as saying "I’m thrilled and grateful that CBS chose me. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go grind a gap in my front teeth". Here's Mr Colbert shaking his thang:

Speculation had been ripe since Letterman's announcement of his retirement this time last week and some had hope that the middle aged white guy in a suit rule would be broken for late night with CBS hiring the likes of Chelsea Handler, Chris Rock or even Tina Fey. Speculation was wrong as Colbert has agreed a five year contract. How do you all think he'll do?
