John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Diana Silvers and more join Netflix' Space Force

Netflix have announced a number of new cast additions to their upcoming comedy centered around the people on Earth tasked with creating the sixth branch of the armed forces - Space Force.

John Malkovich (Being John Malkovich), Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation), Diana Silvers (Booksmart) and Tawny Newsome (Brockmire) are set to join the show as series regulars, while Silicon Valley's Jimmy O. Yang and Unreal's Alex Sparrow will have recurring roles.

Space Force will star Steve Carell as Mark R Naird, a General tapped by the White House to lead a new branch of the Armed Forces with the goal of putting American “Boots on the Moon” by 2024.

Paddington director, Paul King, is set to direct two episodes of the show - including the pilot. The 10 episode first series is set to debut on Netflix in 2020.
