This Is Us handed a mega three season renewal by NBC, taking it up to season six
TV drama This Is Us has been a huge hit for NBC in the US. It received enough critical acclaim after it's debut season that the network renewed it for two seasons and now it has renewed the show again for three seasons, taking it up to season six.
On the pick up for seasons four, five and six, Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, presidents of scripted programming for NBC Entertainment, made the following statement:
“In a television landscape with nearly 500 original scripted series, there are very few, if any, that have the critical and cultural impact of ‘This Is Us’ and we couldn’t be more proud to bring fans three more seasons of a show that so well represents the NBC brand. A huge thank you and congratulations to our executive producers, cast and crew who reach new heights every week with the show’s inventive and compelling storytelling.”
While it has not been confirmed if season six will be the last, This Is Us co-showrunner Isaac Aptaker previously said the plan is for the show to potentially wrap up after three more seasons.
This Is Us focuses on the Pearson family though multiple generations and time periods. It stars Sterling K. Brown, Justin Hartley, Jon Huertas, Chrissy Metz, Mandy Moore, Chris Sullivan, Milo Ventimiglia and Susan Kelechi Watson.
The first two seasons are available to watch on Amazon Prime in the UK. The series airs on More4, with season three - which has just finished in the States - expected to air this summer.
