Gabriel Luna to play Ghost Rider again for a new Hulu TV series
Gabriel Luna's take on classic Marvel character Robbie Reyes AKA Ghost Rider was one of the highlights of Agents of SHIELD's fantastic fourth season. And now he is set to reprise the role for a new TV series on Hulu, Variety has confirmed. However there is a twist.
Not only will Ghost Rider air on a different network to Agents of SHIELD (ABC), but it will also seemingly unconnected to the show Luna debuted on, according to Variety's sources. This will focus on Robbie Reyes - consumed by hellfire and supernaturally bound to a demon- living on the Texas/Mexico border and when he unleashes the Rider, Robbie brings vengeance for the innocents he encounters, but struggles to control the power he wields.
Ingrid Escajeda will act as showrunner and executive producer on Ghost Rider. He will be joined by executive producers Paul Zbyszewski and Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb.
Variety has also confirmed that Hulu are also working on a live-action Marvel series Helstrom. The network is about to air a new upcoming animated Marvel show based on Howard the Duck, M.O.D.O.K, Hit-Monkey, and Tigra and Dazzler. It also has live action series Runaways, which was recently renewed for a third season.
No news on UK broadcasters yet. Runaways airs on Syfy UK, while Agents of SHIELD, starting its delayed sixth season later this month is the US, airs on E4. No UK airdate has been confirmed.
