Doctor Who: 50th anniversary podcast

More on Doctor Who

We round up the cream of our writers to give you our appreciation of fifty years of Doctor Who....Well, given this is a very special time we have decided to treat you all very specially. Myself, Mike Sutton, Gary Couzens and Rob Bayley all got together to share our love of things Who in a podcast special. We talk about all the Doctors and how the programme has developed from its origins to be beloved of fans across the globe.

Mike and Gary are fans of Classic Who and Rob and I like a bit of New Who as well. We look forward to the fiftieth anniversary programme, appreciate showrunners old and new and look at why it all went so wrong with the various hiatuses before Russell T Davies rescued the show.

We discuss our favourite series from our favourite doctors, puzzle about Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy and share some tidbits from behind the scenes on the show. We finish up by imagining what the show will be like once Peter Capaldi takes over as The Doctor and when Steven Moffat leaves for pastures new. We also conclude with this fine clip from Craig Ferguson's The Late Late Show:
