Jon Faverau's Star Wars TV series The Mandalorian has found its lead. Variety has confirmed that Pedro Pascal, best known as the Red Viper in Game of Thrones, has been cast in the main role.
Pascal has been rumoured for the role for some time. The Mandalorian will be set between Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens and follow Pascal's character described as a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The show has already bagged some impressive directors for its 10-episode run; Faverau will be joined by Dave Filoni, Deborah Chow, Rick Famuyiwa, Bryce Dallas Howard, and perhaps most excitingly, Taika Waititi.
The Mandalorian will debut on Disney's new streaming service, Disney+.
