When is the Star Trek 4 release date?
Bad news: Star Trek 4 has now been indefinitely delayed by Paramount and removed from their slate of upcoming movies. The movie had previously been scheduled for release on December 22, 2023.
The undiscovered country: Best adventure movies
The news comes after years of behind the scenes difficulties. The director who had previously been attached to the movie, Matt Shakman, left the project to helm the MCU’s Fantastic Four. And, the main cast for Star Trek 4 still have not signed on to the project, while it isn’t even certain that there is a final script.
This means that, with the cast aging and continuing their careers away from the franchise, the chance that there will ever be a Star Trek 4 has markedly declined. Still, the movie hasn’t officially been cancelled, and currently the cast seem eager to make a new sci-fi movie in the franchise. We just don’t know when it would be.
