The latest video premiere we have for you is the opening song from the upcoming debut by Annie Oakley, an up and coming indie-folk trio from Oklahoma City.
Over the last three years, twin sisters Sophia and Grace Babb, and Nia Personette have created a record that covers deep and personal themes, with three-part harmonies anchoring their sound.
The video for ‘Pomp and Swell’ is the first visual from their debut, and the band’s Sophia Babb told us:
“‘Pomp and Swell’ is about the purest forms of love—warm, all-encompassing love. The kind from the brightest days of childhood to the long, languorous days spent with an old flame.
The music video shows the important figures in a well-loved life — deep friendship, tender romance, and familial bonds. It shows happiness, laughter, and sweetness, in an attempt to tell the story of our luck as loved individuals.
The song includes a line that says, “We talk of the babies not yet to come, the luck that’s upon us, the cities we love” We feel so very lucky to be loved as we are; we wanted to express this in both the song and the music video.”
The record, titled Words We Mean, will be available everywhere from 12th October. To find out more about the band visit their website, follow them on Twitter, like them on Facebook, or check them out on Instagram.
