Nineties vibes lead the new video from Praa - 'Won't Forget 'bout You'
Up and coming French pop singer Praa shares the video for her new single ‘Won’t Forget ‘Bout You’. This is the lead track from her debut EP ‘Praa’ which is out now on Elephant & Castle Records.
‘Won’t Forget ‘Bout You’ follows on from ‘Infinite Regress’ – which the first taster from the EP that Praa (aka Marion Lagassat) shared earlier this year.
Melding 90’s pop music, dance and modern RnB to create and establish a sound that is distinctively her own, Praa encapsulates her influences and frames it as Dance Soul. She shares her intimate emotions through uplifting and stirring pop songs all based around a sparse and minimalist electronic production jumbled with French savoir-faire courtesy of long-term collaborator (and long-term boyfriend) Timsters.
Having grown up in sunny Southern-French town Valence, a child of the 90’s Praa was surrounded by music and film from an early age. Drinking up influences from Brit-pop to American Folk, from Hitchcock to Tarantino and from Dirty Dancing to West Side Story. At 18 Marion felt the urge to move to LA to pursue a music career. Her unlimited passion and constant curiosity of culture in all forms certainly helped shape her rich musical eclecticism – from posting early covers online, to supporting big acts across France (just her and a folk guitar) to joining a psych-rock band playing the organ.
This determination to embrace the world and chase her dreams helped shape the artist Praa we have today. From the young, shy folk singer-songwriter to uninhibited purveyor of emotional pop bangers.
Praa released a few introductory tracks over the course of last year (listen here), but 2019 sees Praa step things up a gear with this debut EP.
