Nineteen-year-old rising pop songstress, HANA2K releases gloriously addictive new track ‘Daydreaming’ – out now.
On ‘Daydreaming’, the wistful bubble-like synth production floats across the track’s warm chords and deep bass beat. The Welsh singer’s mellow, honeyed vocal offers an honest and raw diary-like insight into a teenage crush: “’til you get your shit together and then take me on a date / I’ll just spend another daydreaming” she sings.
Speaking about ‘Daydreaming’, HANA2K says: “Have you ever liked someone so much that you think about them all day? You never make a move; you just dream about the perfect date because you know the dream is so perfect why spoil it!”
‘Daydreaming’ follows on from HANA2K’s last release ‘Call Her My Name’ and early well-received, self-produced bedroom tales ‘Jealousy’ and ‘Too Close’.
Hana was born in 2000 (hence the 2K) and grew up a few miles south of Cardiff. She has played piano all her life and it was after teaching herself to play the guitar that she started to find her own identity through music. It didn’t take long for her to make a big decision about her future. “When I was twelve, I sat my mum and dad down for a serious chat,” Hana remembers. “I said: ‘It’s fine, I’m ready to leave school now, I know what I want to do – I’m going to be a singer.'” Although her announcement initially didn’t go down well, at thirteen-years-old, Hana got her dad to help her upload ten self-written songs to SoundCloud – she quickly caught attention from major labels. After a period being managed by the company responsible for the planet’s biggest boyband, Hana used this experience to learn how to produce music and create her own distinctive sound. HANA2K has now developed her unique brand of huge, unapologetic pop bangers with an instinctive depth that delivers style and substance in equal measure.
Citing the likes of Charli XCX, Katy Perry and Britney Spears as well as J-pop as major influences – HANA2K is a sensational artist unfolding who has the potential to reach the upper echelons of the pop sphere. More music will be released soon.
