Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Catch You

After a lengthy break from the music business to have a baby and watch her husband get semi-famous playing bass in The Feeling, Sophie Ellis-Bextor returns with a spiky little pop song full of angular guitars and nippy keyboards. Written by Cathy Dennis, no less, Catch You is not a bad little song, starting with clipped nu-wave guitar before cascading into dull thudding drums and machines that go ping.

Her new album Trip The Light Fantastic is released in the Spring and features contributions from Fred Schieder of the The B52's and her husbands frontman Dan Gillespie Sells. She describes the album as "an invitation to dance" but whether after such a lengthy break anyone cares much for Sophie remains to be seen.
