Snow Patrol - You're All I Have

When originally released, "Final Straw" looked destined to go the same way of Snow Patrol's previous two albums - highly regarded among their fanbase, but causing barely a ripple to the wider audience. The single release of "Run" though blew all that apart, and took them well into the mainstream, with all the pressures this can bring. Can Snow Patrol deliver that killer new album?

Well, if this song is anything to go by, it might just be possible. They have taken the wise decision to stick to what they know - same producer, and more or less the same sound. But this song is a belter, a charged piece of pop and melody. Guitars shimmer and shine, with a wonderful bridge leading from the verse, exploding into the chorus. This is a very fine song indeed and a good omen for what is to come.

Can they deliver an album as good as this? Well, we'll have to wait and see. But as a band, they possess an honesty and an integrity that makes you hope they can pull it off.
