Say Lou Lou - Immortelle

The "official" charts are full of pop, and if you've heard most of it you might despair. We do. But there are some pop saviours out there, like Say Lou Lou. Three years on from their well-reviewed debut, sisters Elektra and Miranda Kilbey-Jansson have delivered a follow up that builds on every foundation laid on Lucid Dreaming, which means that Immortelle is great.

A slight change in sound moves the duo towards Portsihead from the opening bars of 'Ana'. Across the lean half hour they also delve into James Bond soundtrack territory, all of which is a plus in our book. The rat-a-tat of the drum machine, the breathy vocals, and the swirling keys, strings, and guitars lend Immortelle a late night atmosphere. If you like your pop slinky, sexy, and ever so slightly mysterious, then Say Lou Lou have got you covered.

Overall

A masterful slice of pop with depth.
