Various - Superclub Ibiza

With clubbing brands Cream, Pacha and Gatecrasher each getting a dedicated disc, Superclub Ibiza might be considered a (very) Rough Guide to what you’ll hear on the island this summer. Sadly, it’s a somewhat MOR selection, dominated by trance and electro-house. Fans of Fedde Le Grand, Deadmau5, Sidney Samson and Laidback Luke will be in their element, those names appearing more than once on the track listing. Expect also a smattering of old tunes given a re-rub: Kings of Tomorrow’s 'Finally', Depeche Mode’s 'Personal Jesus', Everything But The Girl’s 'Missing'. None of these are exactly bad, just indicative of a rather tired feel. The highlight? Probably T.E.E.D's gleefully hyperactive mangling of Fenech-Soler’s 'Lies'. Otherwise, file under Not That Exciting.

We need your help

Running a website like The Digital Fix - especially one with over 20 years of content and an active community - costs lots of money and we need your help. As advertising income for independent sites continues to contract we are looking at other ways of supporting the site hosting and paying for content.

You can help us by using the links on The Digital Fix to buy your films, games and music and we ask that you try to avoid blocking our ads if you can. You can also help directly for just a few pennies per day via our Patreon - and you can even pay to have ads removed from the site entirely.
