Misty Miller - Next To You EP

Debut EP Girlfriend ignited our love for Misty Miller and follow-up EP Next To You seals the affair. Co-produced by the young Londoner, the EP shows off a slightly different to Miller but one that's equally as welcome as the unadulterated rock 'n roll edges of Girlfriend.

Things kick off in fine familiar fashion with the nicely chunky riffs of the title track and the rollicking, carefree nature of 'Anything For You' before Miller delivers the EP's highlight. Laidback acoustic number 'Wait' is gorgeous, showcasing arresting vocals and a fitting emotive punch, with the track also marking a change in direction for the EP. 'Tea In China' is more expansive than anything we've heard from Miller before, with a well-honed balance between soft and loud dynamics, before closer 'I've Got Everything' blindsides with its slightly muffled, layered vocals. Put simply, you could happily put all tracks from this EP and its predecessor to craft an excellent debut album. The fact that Misty Miller still has tracks to come for her full-length debut makes us very excited indeed.
