Cradle of Filth - Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa
Those British black-metal stars Cradle of Filth are back with a new album Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa, and a new label in the shape of their own imprint AbraCadaver. Apart from this though, not a whole lot has changed about the Dani Filth led shock-metallers. The band have always been one for concepts and this one sees the band taking on the Biblical subject of Adam’s first wife Lilith. Backed by plenty of double-bass and razor sharp riffs, this is the typical theatrical journey that we’ve come to expect from them and, to be fair, this is no bad thing as every song is a solid, brutal and exciting exercise in ambitious power. While Mr Filth’s vocals are as questionable as always, this is still a worthy addition to the band's back catalogue.
