The Race help celebrate Shifty Disco birthday
It's Shifty Disco's 10th anniversary this year and there's a special gig to commemorate.
Pioneering Oxford-based independent label Shifty Disco celebrated its 10th Anniversary on 27th January, 2007. To mark the occasion the label will be showcasing three of their bands at London’s Tottenham Court Road Fopp on Monday 19th March 2007. The Race, Seagull Strange and King of Spain will all be performing in what's being described as "a fantastic night’s entertainment."
Reading five-piece, The Race, will be performing their uplifting indie rock with their single release of ‘Comfort Comfort’ out the same day. Described by paper-based music journal NME as “the real winners in the anthemic indie stakes” The Race are an exciting prospect.
Seagull Strange are described as a mix of eighties synth pop and melodic rock, they are sure to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Shifty Disco in style.
Up and coming Lo-fi rockers, King of Spain, have already released 3 download singles on Shifty Disco and featured on Shifty Disco 10, a three disc compilation CD released to celebrate the labels tenth birthday. After showcasing their talents regularly at venues such as The Barfly and 93 Ft East, King of Spain will be able to add Fopp TCR to their list.
