Termites New Single Details
Self-confessed Death Poppers, Termites, are to release their first EP, “Set Yourself On Fire” on 18th July through London based Headwrecker Records. The EP will contain new songs “Wrong” and “Amusement (Lorry Crash)” and will be available on CD, 7” and Digital Download.
Part of new wave of lazer-edged British psychedelia - Termites call it “Death Pop” - Pixies, Supergrass and early Pink Floyd are all points on the band's musical compass. During the recording of the EP, the band locked themselves away in their studio to work with Liars / Beastie Boys producer Steve Revitte. Termites - who hail from the Stokes Croft area of Bristol - have just been out on the road with fans British Sea Power and word has quickly spread to the likes of Kaiser Chiefs and Nine Black Alps.
Termites are a dark force live, they have played shows for Sonic Mook Experiment and the XFM night at Rendition, they recently have supported The Magic Numbers, British Sea Power, Brakes and wowed the crowds at Club NME. The band have also just played Drowned In Sound's London night, Club Fandango in London, and the "Sounds Of The City" festival in Manchester, as well as the ‘Go North’ Festival in Aberdeen.
Temites are a creatively busy bunch - Tim Termite’s short film “Tea Break” won Jury prizes, exhibited at the San Sebastian and Claremont Film Festivals, and has been snapped up by Channel 4 and Canal Plus. He’s even been asked to fly to Iran for a screening! Meanwhile, Ali Termite has co-produced the new “Gravenhurst” album for Warp and mixed a Fat Boy Slim re-mix with Kid Carpet.
