Safe To Swim Release New Single 'Boyfriend'
Brighton four-piece, Safe To Swim, have this week released their new single 'Boyfriend'.
Drawing on their love of The Pixies, The Strokes and Lou Reed, the track creates a poignant, hard-hitting atmosphere. Moving away from the lo-fi sound of their early songs, 'Boyfriend' sees the group move towards indie-pop territory.
Speaking of the song, frontman Jim Filippides said: “It's the first love song I ever wrote. It’s a little bit tongue in cheek but it’s about falling in love with a stranger and knowing that they will never feel the same way about you.”
Working alongside Hibbit and Josh Harrison (The Cure, Royal Blood, British Sea Power), the group are putting the finishing touches to their debut EP.
Their new single and previous releases are available for download and can be found on streaming sites and their own Soundcloud page.
