Ready for some Pagan Love Vibrations?

Amorphous Androgynous release their second mix CD, ‘A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble Exploding In Your Mind Vol 2 – Pagan Love Vibrations’ on the 26th October 2009.

Following the critical acclaim for their first volume, Amorphous Androgynous return with their second mind-bending trip through four decades of archives, and unearth the future classics of psychedelia in its many guises.

Amorphous Androgynous consists of seminal electronic duo Garry Cobain and Brian Dougans (Future Sound Of London), two men with a knack for discovering and giving new life to the best of the buried and the forgotten, and this second volume digs deeper to take listeners on an exploratory journey through the rich goldmine of weird and wonderful cosmic space music. From the duo’s initial notorious cult ISDN shows broadcast through Radio 1 and XFM, these mixes connect the hidden past with the future. Considered gurus of psychedelic sound by their fans, and already championed by the likes of Noel Gallagher, who requested a 22 minute epic psychedelic bubble mix of their ‘Falling Down’ single for a recent b-side, describing it as ‘monumental’, Volume 2 takes their vision to a dizzying new level.

As DJs, Garry and Brian set out their stall to offer an alternative to what they describe as ‘beat fascism’ that dictated the super clubs of the nineties and continues to brainwash the dance scene today. “We have an absolute freedom to cover what is revolutionary, and want to ignite fascination and curiosity. A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble continues that legacy of psychedelia, rock, dance and ambient.” – Garry Cobain

From Hawkwind to Bo Diddley, Animal Collective to David Holmes, to the fresh sounds of Mountain Machine and Cranium Pie, the mix incorporates the very essence of acid-folk, orchestral, eastern classical, and electronic for a trusty melting pot of head-spinning psychedelia. Volume 2 concludes with one of Amorphous Androgynous’ own songs (as recordings artists, Amorphous Androgynous have released three studio albums), and another spiraling soundscape from the duo.
