Big Troubles release their new album Romantic Comedy via Slumberland on 3rd October. Watch the video here:


Dog Is Dead have announced a one-off single to be released on Halloween. 'Hands Down', produced by David Kosten, will be available to purchase on limited edition 7” and digital download and will be accompanied by b-side 'Burial Ground', produced by Richard Formby.

The Nottingham five-piece have also announced that they will be supporting Bombay Bicycle Club on their upcoming UK tour, before playing their biggest headline show to date at Nottingham's Rock City on December 17th.


Rocket Girl Records have announced the signing of New Yorks White Ring. The 'witch-house' acts Black Earth That Made Me EP will be reissued in November, while a full-length will materialise early 2012. Check out a track by the band below:


Strange Boys have just released a video for their new single 'Me and You'. Their album, Live Music will follow on 24 October via Rough Trade.


Nashville duo The Civil Wars have revealed details of their debut UK release. 7" single 'Barton Hollow' is set for release on October 17th through the band's own Sensibility Music label, with their debut album of the same name out in early 2012.

They're currently supporting Adele on her UK tour and will be playing two headline dates of their own at the end of September, details of which can be found below:

James Bennett, AKA Mozart Parties will release his debut single 'Black Clouds' on October 31st. Accompanied by B-side 'Raining At The Crossroads', the single will be released on Merok Records, responsible for the likes of Crystal Castles and Klaxons. Have a listen below:


'Streets So Warm' will be the third single to be taken from Toddla T's sophomore effort Watch Me Dance. Featuring Wayne Marshall and Skream, the track is out on October 17th through Ninja Tune and comes equipped with remixes from Zed Bias, Serial Killaz and Ross Orton.


The Pierces have announced the latest single to be taken from their Gold-certified album You & I. 'Kissing You Goodbye' is out on October 23rd, with its release coming after the duo's biggest ever UK tour to date which kicks off in Sheffield on October 7th. Tickets are still available for selected dates.


With their debut album due out at the end of the year, Sheffield four-piece Starlings are set to release new single 'Dark Arts' on October 10th through Civil Music. The dark electro-pop rockers will also be touring the UK throughout October and November, full details of which are as follows:

Recently signed to Hideout Recordings, Various Cruelties' new single 'Chemicals' is out on October 3rd. The single follows two well-received, self-released tracks 'Neon Truth' and 'If It Wasn't For You', which both sold out within days of their limited run releases and received radio airplay on the likes of Radio One and XFM. Having already played at this year's Bestival and Isle Of Wight, Various Cruelties will be touring the UK over the next couple of months. Having premiered on earlier in the week the track is already picking up a great reaction online and has been steadily moving up the Twitter chart on HypeMachine over the last 24 hours.

'Velvet Elvis' is the title track from Alex Winston's forthcoming EP. Released via Island Records on October 17th, the EP features another new track 'Fire Ant' along with a King Charles remix of 'Velvet Elvis' which is currently streaming from Alex's soundcloud here:


Veronica Falls have announced a string of European shows for the start of November including headline dates in France, Germany and Belgium and an appearance at Amsterdam’s London Calling festival. The dates will follow their previously announced run of UK shows in October to coincide with the release of their debut self-titled album on 17th October. The UK tour will start with an album launch party in London on 20th with support from Echo Lake and a special guest DJ set from Franz Ferdinand’s Alex Kapranos.

The band are also excited to announce that they will support Wild Flag – the indie supergroup featuring ex-members of Sleater-Kinney, Quasi, Helium and The Minders at their now sold out debut London show in December. They will also join Dum Dum Girls on their UK tour in November.
