Alabama 3 have put up a free download of ‘Facebook.con’ to give fans a taste of the new album Shoplifting 4 Jesus, which is released through Hostage Music on February 27th 2012.


Brit rock auteur Steven Wilson received his third Grammy nomination this week in the “Best Surround Sound Album” category for Grace for Drowning, the first album he’s released under his own name. Wilson is a pioneer in the field of surround sound, and this nomination maintains his perfect batting average: three surround sound Grammy nominations for his last three Grammy-eligible albums. He was previously recognized for Porcupine Tree's 2007 album Fear Of A Blank Planet and 2009’s The Incident.

2012 is shaping up to be a busy year for Wilson as well, with several major events in the pipeline: Wilson will perform a series of US west-coast tour dates in support of Grace For Drowningin the spring. During that run, he will record a show for a live Blu-Ray, to be released later in the year.


Following her acclaimed sell-out show at London’s Scala in November, Ane Brun has just announced her biggest UK concert to date.

Ane Brun and her band are set to play the following headline shows:

· Dublin – Vicars Street – April 27th
· London – Shepherd’s Bush Empire – April 28th

The fourth studio album It All Starts With One was released in October via Balloon Ranger Records and has captivated a wide audience, exceeding expectation with its lush complexity, ambitious arrangements and for Brun’s extraordinary voice. In recognition of this, the album has been included in the nominations for the prestigious Nordic Music Prize, along with Björk, Lykke Li and Oh Land. The shortlist will be chosen by a pan-Nordic group of music journalists and an international jury will decide on the winner, to be revealed on February 16th 2012.


Liverpudlian Elsie, who now resides in London, has revealed that her debut single 'The Assassin' is out on February 5th. Check it out below.


'Tenderly / Flow' will be the next double A-side single released by Disclosure on January 30th via Make Mine and will be available digitally and on 7". Check it out below.


Canadians Azari & III have announced the release date of their self-titled debut album, which was previously only available on import and limited edition vinyl, as February 19th. The album will be preceded a week earlier on February 12th by new single 'Reckless (With Your Love)' which will come backed by remixes from Paul Epworth, Riva Starr, Julio Bashmore and Tiga. Following her well-received debut single 'Live For What I'd Die For', Jess Mills has announced that her next single will be 'Pixelated People', out on February 13th. The track was produced by Sam Frank and comes backed with remixes from Nocturnal Sunshine and Wilkinson. Check it out below.


Marcata will be the debut album released by Dublin trio The Minutes. The album takes its name from the New York studio where the band recorded it over a five-day period with Kevin McMahon (The Walkmen, Titus Andronicus) and will be out on January 30th through Model Citizen Records. The trio play The Lexington in London on December 20th. Tickets are on sale now, priced at £5 each.


Sound Of Guns have unveiled the video to 'Silicon', the title track on their new EP that will be released on January 9th.


Kathleen Edwards has unveiled the video for new single 'Change The Sheets', out on February 6th. The track is taken from her forthcoming album Voyageur, set for release on January 16th through Rounder Records, and was featured on her recent 7" 'Wapusk'.

Kathleen will also be touring the UK in support of the new album. Tickets for the four-date tour are on sale now, with full details as follows:

Laura Gibson and Dear Reader have announced a joint album launch show set to take place at The Social in London on January 16th. Both Laura's album La Grande and Dear Reader's album Idealistic Animals are out on January 9th through City Slang and you can check out a track from both of them below.

Long Island Five-piece Twin Sister are to release a limited edition remix 12” (RUG453T, also available digitally - RUG453D) on 30th January 2012. The 12” will feature a Balam Acab remix of 'Kimmi In A Rice Field' backed with a Lindstrom & Prins Thomas remix of 'Bad Street'. Both singles appear on their debut album In Heaven (recently named one of TMF's Top 30 albums of 2011) released this past September.


ATP Recordings have announced that they have signed Denver-based band Tennis for their second album, Young & Old out February 13th 2012. For this album guitarist Patrick Riley, vocalist Aliana Moore and drummer James Barone headed to Nashville to work with The Black Keys' Patrick Carney. The first single from these sessions, 'Origins', is out now as a Digital Download on ATP Recordings, a double A-side release accompanied by another new track 'Deep In The Woods'.


Jamie N Commons releases his new single ‘Devil In Me’ March 5th on Luv Luv Luv Records. The song is taken from The Baron EP, which is out now.
