Music news update: Weds 29th January

Spires release 'Candy Flip' via the Too Pure Singles Club on 3rd March. It which was produced by Connor Hanwick (The Drums / The Pains of Being Pure At Heart).

Young Romance will release their debut single 'Pale' on 10th March via Banquet Records.

De-Fence Records have launched an online silent auction for tickets to ‘Gastonbury’, a benefit gig in support of Concerned Communities of Falkirk (CCoF) who are raising money to pay for legal representation at the upcoming Public Inquiry into controversial plans to drill for coal bed methane gas on farmland and under homes.

Gastonbury will take place on February 27th at the North Star Bar in Falkirk and will include acoustic sets from Steve Mason, King Creosote, James Yorkston, and Ross Fairweather, supported by DJs Dave McLean (Django Django) and OnTheFly.

Double Six will release the third album from the Bristol duo of Malachai, Beyond Ugly on March 31st.

On 14th April, Tuff Gong Worldwide and V2 BeNeLux release Fly Rasta, the fifth studio album by Ziggy Marley. He plays a London headline show at Electric Brixton on Wednesday 23rd April in support.

Brixton band The Melodic will release new single ‘On My Way’ on 10th March, while their full length Anti- label debut Effra Parade lands the following week. They will play XOYO in London on 7th May.
