Music news round-up: Weds 7 March

Paul Weller has issued a teaser video for the track 'Dragonfly', taken from his forthcoming album Sonik Kicks.

Remixes of Arcade Fire's 'Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains)' and 'Ready To Start' will be available as part of a limited edition 12" vinyl, to be released on April 21st through Sonovox to mark Record Store Day. The tracks were remixed by the band and Damian Taylor and you can hear the 'Sprawl II' remix by visiting the dance motion-activated video on this here weblink.

Following Frank Turner’s headline show at London’s Wembley Arena on 13th April 2012, a special limited edition double A-side 7” single of ‘I Still Believe’/Somebody To Love’ will hit the shops for this year’s Record Store Day. He will be playing this year's V Festival and headlining the Beautiful Days Festival.

Chris Isaak has announced a UK tour that will see him play Manchester, Glasgow, Wolverhampton, Bristol and HMV Hammersmith Apollo, London. Tickets will go onsale at 9am on Friday 9th March. His new album Beyond The Sun has debuted at #6, making it the highest new entry of the week on the album chart. Released on Rhino, its success represents a renaissance for Chris Isaak in the UK as it is his highest charting album since his 1991 collection Wicked Game.

London's O Children have announced the release of Apnea, the follow up to their 2010 eponymous debut album, via Deadly People on 28th May. The band have also announced a series of UK live dates for the end of March.

Edward Shape & the Magnetic Zeros will release their second studio album HERE on 28th May via Rough Trade Records. The album, which is the follow-up to the LA group’s 2009 debut Up From Below, was self-produced and recorded in Bogalusa, LA and in their studio in Ojai, CA.

15 year old singer/songwriter, Birdy (AKA Jasmine Van den Bogaerde) has unveiled details of her debut headline gig. She will play The Tabernacle in London on Thursday, April 12th with tickets going onsale this coming Friday, March 9th.

Dunfermline 5-piece indie rockers Modern Faces will release their debut single, a double A-side release of ‘Pravda Scrolls’ / ‘Cynical Brother’ on 9th April through Dirty Love Recordings.

Evans the Death have released the first single from their forthcoming self-titled album, 'Telling Lies'. Here's the video!

Bearcraft returns with a new dose of electro synth pop in the form of free download ‘Honey’.

The track is taken from their forthcoming Honey EP which will be released on May 14th. You can download ‘Honey’ for free at the Bearcraft website.

With the imminent release of Imperial Leisure's forthcoming sophomore album Death To The One Trick Pony on March 26th the band have debuted the video for their new single ‘Bitter And Twisted’, which will be released on March 19th through Steamroller Records.
