Music news round up: w/e 7 December

The Struts have announced that their new single 'Kiss This' will be released on February 3rd through Virgin EMI. Their debut album is due out in spring 2014 and they will play two headline shows in Febuary, at London's Barfly on the 6th and Manchester's Sound Control on the 7th.


Editors will play two headline shows at London's Roundhouse on March 18th and 19th. The second date was added due to demand. Tickets are on sale now.


To coincide with the release of their debut album, Dexters are to tour the UK in March and April. Tickets go on sale this morning (7th) at 9am and you can also get a bundle of an album pre-order, gig ticket and a t-shirt. Full tour details are as follows:

'Kiss Me Quickly (It's Christmas)', is taken from a Christmas compilation curated by the band, featuring the likes of Shinies, September Girls, Brown Brogues and Post War Glamour Girls, to be released on their Haus of PINS label. Proceeds from the compilation go to SWAP, an organisation helping asylum seekers and refugees.


The Woodentops return with their first new studio album in 25 years in the New Year via Cherry Red on February 24th. Fronted by the group's original frontman and principal songwriter Rolo McGinty, the band have recorded Granular Tales over the past few years. It will be preceded by a single ‘Third Floor Rooftop’ High’ and followed by a short UK tour in March.
