Music news round up: w/e 6 July

Fake Club have released their new single 'Beauty Queen', available now on iTunes. The track - which you can listen to below - is the third to be taken from their upcoming debut album.


Tickets are now on sale for The Queen Extravaganza, the official Queen tribute show put together by Roger Taylor and Brian May. Taylor himself hand picked the band members (vocalists Marc Martel and Jennifer Espinoza; guitarist Brian Gresh; drummer Tyler Warren; bassist Francois-Olivier Doyon; and keyboardist and musical director Brandon Ethridge) from thousands of auditionees during a unique online talent search with video submissions generating more than 10m views from around the globe. The Voice UK winner Andrea Begley will play her first live dates in November. Begley will play Belfast's Ulster Hall on Nov 3rd, with London's Union Chapel to follow on the 4th. Tickets are on sale now.


'Brand New Day' will be the fourth single released from Kodaline's debut album In A Perfect World, which charted at number three. The track is out on August 26th.

Arctic Monkeys will now play a second date at Earls Court, London on Saturday 26th October.


Following the acclaimed Human Racing reissue, Universal Music Catalogue are now pleased to announce the Re-Presents edition of The Riddle by Nik Kershaw (to be released on August 12th). Featuring the top 10 singles ‘The Riddle’, ‘Wide Boy’ and ‘Don Quixote’, this expanded edition comes with b-sides and live material – mixed by Nik himself. Nik plays the Rewind festival and Cropredy festival then heads to Australia for a tour with Kim Wilde.


San Francisco natives The Dodos will play a UK show on November 4th at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen following the release of their new LP, Carrier, out worldwide on August 27th via Polyvinyl Records. The album will be released on CD, LP (180 gram blue vinyl), cassette (limited edition of 100 white cassettes) and all digital outlets.


Drones are a politically-charged punk/hardcore four-piece hailing from Camberley in Surrey. Since the release of their debut album Mutiny, Drones have been on the road and now they’re set to release their new six-track EP Free Marked Kid.

The first track to be unveiled from the EP, ‘Empty Words’, has been released on the free compilation Skatepunk For South Bank, alongside the likes of Frank Turner, Your Demise and Marmozets.
