Placebo have announced that their seventh studio album Loud Like Love will be released on September 16th through Universal. Produced by Adam Noble, the album was recorded in London at RAK Studios during 2012 and early 2013. Available to preorder from midday on May 31st, the album will be available in five different formats: 3D Lenticular Super Deluxe Box Set, Limited Edition Deluxe Digi-Pack Version, Double 12" Coloured Vinyl Gatefold Edition, Standard CD Album, Digital.

The band will embark on a European tour following the album's release, with the UK dates as follows:

After months of speculation, disinterred British extreme metal legends Carcass have signed to Nuclear Blast Records. Due in the Autumn, Surgical Steel is the band's first studio release since their 1996 LP Swansong; it was produced by Colin Richardson and mixed/mastered by Andy Sneap. Joining guitarist Bill Steer and bassist/vocalist Jeff Walker in the band's current incarnation are new drummer Dan Wilding and guitarist Ben Ash; original sticksman Ken Owen also provides backing vocals. The band are set to headline the Damnation Festival at Leeds University Union on November 2nd.


Mongers of despair Paradise Lost have announced a short tour for the Autumn to celebrate 25 years of doom and depression. Joining them will be Lacuna Coil. The dates are as follows;

Nick Mulvey has announced details of three more UK shows to take place this summer. Nick Mulvey will play Bristol's Louisiana, Manchester's Cornerhouse, and Edinburgh's Sneaky Petes this summer.

Lewis Watson will follow his performance at Glastonbury this summer with the release of the Four More Songs EP on July 1st on Warner Bros. Records.

The EP also features 'Songs That We Wrote When We Were Drunk', a demo version of the love song 'Close' and his interpretation of Guillemots' 'Made Up Love Song #43'.
