Music news round up: w/e 16 November

Alkaline Trio have announced details of a European Tour, taking place in April and May next year. The tour will kick off in Oxford on April 15th and include headlining shows as well as festival appearances like Groezrock Festival in Belgium and Monster Bash Festival in Germany. Bayside will join them on all dates.

Caro Emerald will make her debut Royal Variety Performance this year. "This is so huge! I feel very, very honoured to be invited to take part in the show. I appreciate how important it is and how many great entertainers have taken part over the last 100 years. I'm also thrilled to perform for the Royal Family," said Caro today.

The show, hosted by award winning comedian and actor John Bishop, takes place at the London Palladium on Monday 25th November and will be screened on ITV in December. Caro will join a host of stars including Mary J. Blige, Dame Edna Everage, Gary Barlow, Jimmy Carr, Chas & Dave, Torvill & Dean, Britain’s Got Talent winners, Attraction, and the cast of the hit West End musical Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.

Caro will return to Britain in 2014 for an extensive arena tour including London’s O2 Arena.


Following the release of her critically acclaimed album Crown Electric - released on One Little Indian earlier this year, Kathryn Williams will be playing a final London show on November 19th at the Union Chapel.


Liverpool born soul singer Roxanne Jones releases her new single ‘Living A Lie’ this week, with her debut album to follow in 2014.


The day before she plays a headline show at London's Lexington, Emily Wells will release new single 'Mama's Gonna Give You Love' on December 16th, taken from recent album Mama. Listen to the track below.
