SHONEN KNIFE are an influential all-female Japanese pop-punk band from Japan who formed in 1981. Heavily influenced by 60's girl groups, The Beach Boys and The Ramones, the trio crafts stripped-down songs in both Japanese in English.

They gained worldwide cult following status in the late 80s-early 90s on labels such as Sub Pop and Capitol, making fans out of Kurt Cobain, Sonic Youth, Redd Kross and John Peel, and they paved the way for other Japanese bands to find recognition with international audiences.

THE LOVELY EGGS released album 'If You Were a Fruit' on Cherryade Records this week.

ISLET is a new project by former members of excellent Cardiff bands The Victorian English Gentlemen's Club and Attack and Defend.
