Eirik Bøe and Erlend Øye, collectively Kings of Convenience, have unveiled the brand new video for the first single ‘Boat Behind’ to be taken from their first album in five years ‘Declaration Of Dependence’. ‘Boat Behind’ is released on the 12th October. Declaration of Dependence follows on the 19th October.
Here’s what Eirik has said of ‘Boat Behind’…
“The lyric was inspired by our German viola player, Toby. He and Erlend [Øye] were reading an article about someone crossing the Atlantic on a surfboard, when Toby said – in English – there must have been a boat behind. It was a great image. We think this song belongs to our grandparents, but we can’t work out which decade we’ve been inspired by.”
