Where’s My Tribe is out next year.
Charlene Soraia isn’t resting on her laurels with her second new track in less than two weeks. As with her previous track, ‘Tragic Youth’ is taken from her upcoming new album Where’s My Tribe.
Today, Charlene Soraia shares the second single from her forthcoming Where’s My Tribe album, “Tragic Youth.” Charlene’s agile and richly melodic vocals over feverish guitar and banjo recall Laura Marling’s early records, while her timbre channels glimpses of Fiona Apple. Gliding across octaves, she sings of feeling torn between the past and future.
“‘Tragic Youth’ is about the involuntary process of laying one’s inalterable past to rest before they believe they are ready to do so. The abstraction and resistance to fight the urge to ‘bite the hand that feeds’ despite desperately seeking change, is also explored in this song. Wanting change yet resisting new experiences despite knowing that to create is to destroy and that rebirth only follows death.”
Where’s My Tribe is set for release on 25th January 2019.
